Your $475 first enrollment buys a 12-month enrollment period with up to three attempts. The first is included; the second and third are $300 retakes each. If you fail, you can rebook immediately. The catch to know about: three failed (or absent) results trigger a mandatory six-month cooling-off period — no rebooking, no re-enrolling — after which you start a fresh $475 enrollment. So worst case, a full first enrollment (three attempts) runs $1,075 plus tax, and if you have to re-enroll after cooling off you're past $1,550 and six months before you even pass.
'Absent' is worth calling out: a no-show, or a botched remote setup, counts as a consumed attempt, not a freebie. None of this is meant to scare you — it's an entry-level competency exam — but each attempt carries real weight, so the expensive mistake is walking in underprepared.
